Should I stay or should I go now?

Changing Jobs: To move or not to move jobs – that is the question.  At this time of year, it’s often a New Year’s resolution.

Many factors come into consideration, but overall it’s your satisfaction in the job that will start this process. Is the grass always greener somewhere else?  Once you have considered looking for a change, then it’s a good idea to set the wheels into motion. This can be as easy as searching for advertised roles just to see if anything catches your eye. Remember that sometimes finding the perfect next job could take some time, but the benefit of staying in a job is that you can ensure you only move for exactly the right opportunity.

Be sure to register with the right recruitment agency.  It is important to discuss why you are looking at other employment options. Talking through the process can make things clearer and more focused moving forward.  Clearly identifying why you are looking to change jobs is important. Is it the content of the role? Are there no challenges left?  Is it time for a change in company or industry?  Do you need somewhere closer to home? The list goes on – and is different for everyone.

Once you have clear in your head your reason for a change, it will be easier to keep your search focused. Talk to the right people and stay positive, and you will be well on your way to finding the right exciting new job…or deciding your current job actually is where you want to stay!
